The place of education in professional career of nurses

Abstract: The primary aim of the research was to investigate the role of education in career development of nurses. 120 students attending the University of Medical Sciences in Poznan participated in the research conducted in 2014-2015. The results show that respondents are interested in continuing education, and the newly acquired knowledge and skills are used in the development of their professional career. The most important motives for continuing education are: ambition, an inner need for self-development, desire to acquire new knowledge and skills.
